Scope of the Project
Design and construction of a chicken coop as a garden pavilion for a private client.

Concept & Values
This project, which is both a massive model and a tiny building, intends to utilize the productive logic of model building at a 1:1 scale. Shop drawings, jigs, power tools, and improvisation supersede the original design and produce valuable architectural knowledge.

At the same time, the project engages the aesthetics and politics of conventional construction materials—those standardized and rendered affordable by the industrial logics embedded in their manufacture. By deliberately mistranslating these logics, the project produces new tectonic expressions and reframes the supposedly banal or generic as both expressive and specific.

Role Description
This project was commissioned during COVID-19; design, coordination and fabrication where a solitary endeavor.
